Is God hiding?

I was at church the other day and noticed some kids playing hide and seek in the sanctuary. It was everything you would expect from the classic game. The seeker kept her eyes open when she counted. The hiders always hid together in plain sight and couldn’t help giggling to give their secret position away. They really wanted to be found.

Did you know that God actually wants to be found by you? It’s no secret. God says in Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Did you catch that? God promises that you WILL find him when you look for him with your whole heart.

Here are three ways you can start seeking God in your life right now.

  • Seek Him With Your Heart – Your heart influences everything in your life. If you want to get off on the right foot this is the place you must start. If your heart doesn’t belong to God nothing in your life will. Take a moment right now and ask God to be found in your heart and surrender it to him.

  • Seek Him With Your Head – What you think about will shape your entire life. If you always think negatively you will be plagued by sadness, depression and anxiety. These are not God’s desires for your life. If that has been you it’s time for a mind makeover. Take a moment right now and ask God to be found in your mind. Let him be your dominant thought.

  • Seek Him With Your Hands – What you do matters. Your actions show that you’re either seeking God or hiding from him. You’re either sinning with your hands or serving God with your hands. Which is it for you? Take a moment right now and ask God to be found in your actions.

God’s not hiding. He never has been and he never will be. He’s actually in plain sight. You just have to look.

I’m praying for you,

Pastor Zac
